Removing LCD smartie

Post by adam_s_cooper »

I have a zalman hd 160, installed lcd smartie and things are not going well. I cannot get the characters to stop jumping from up and down from line to line. I want to remove lcd smartie and reset my case to default settings. PLEASE HELP!!

What do you mean you have "installed the LCD Smartie"?
There is no official release with installer!
The sourceforge releases are only ziped folders of the program.
Where did you find the program?

In any case you can solve the problem instead removing the program from your system!

Please post here what exactly is your connection type and configued screens.... This is a good begining for support.

Ok sorry I did not mean to say that I had "installed" LCD smartie, simply that I had it on my system, and that I could not get my system to revert to its original state.

My connection type is usb, and i am running a 2x16 vfd.
I'm not sure what you mean by configured screens however, as I am a newbie to this whole htpc business.
The software I am using is IR trans, and it works fine for my remote control, in fact it worked fine out of the box for the vfd.

I just want to reverse the effects thats the lcd smartie has had on my system. It does work to a degree, but the characters jump from line to line, and are not "readable." If i could find a way to set it up properly i would be happy with that.

I believe that your system is running a second instance of lcd driving software...
Is the Vfd connected in parallel mode?

This second vfd controlling software must be the cause of jumping characters.... If there any option to disable it?
