Problems with XP

Well here's where I'm at. I have tested my LCD on a 2k laptop and it works like a peach. Not a problem and it's a darn cool app! So now I test it on a laptop with XP and I get no love. Then, just to make sure, I test it on another laptop with XP and again no love. I know the wiring is good because I can connect it to my 2k laptop and it works fine. I have checked my addresses on both non-working machines and they show 0378 so that should be cool. I have also changed them both to EPP like the FAQ says and that did not help. When I did change the port type to EPP in the bios it did not change the lable in device manager so I found that strange, again on both machines. So I'm not sure what to try next. Any help would be great! I have checked this forum for help before posting but did not seem to find this issus which makes me even more concerned.

Am I really the only person having this problem? I have read other posts about people in my same situation. Maybe a virus program blocking something? So from what I'm guessing LCDSmartie will run on XP right?
