I HAD MAKE MY LCD HD44780 AND WORKS FINE
I HAD ALSO CONNECT A LED AT PIN 17 WHICH WORKS AS A BACKLIGHT
I NEED HELP FOR WIRING BUTTONS. WHERE I HAVE TO CONNECT THEM AND WHAT PLUGIN I NEED?
I WOULD ALSO ASK IF I CAN GET POWER +5V FROM PARALLEL PORT.
NOW I TAKE FROM THE MOUSE/KEYBOARD PORT AND WORKS FINE BUT I WANT TO TAKE FROM PARALLEL, IF IT IS EASY!!!

This thread has all the info on adding buttons to a parallel port LCD. You can have up to 16 buttons!
Unfortunately, you cannot get any power from the parallel port, only data signals. You can get 5V from the PS2 connectors, and USB ports provide up to 100mA at 5V. If you need lots of current (like for the backlight on a large LCD at about 200mA) you must take it from the disk drive connectors on the main power supply.
