OK, somehow I've run out of spare screens, I'm up to number 18 now.
I have looked in the config.ini and have added more screens in there but LCD Smartie doesn't pick up the changes.
Is there anyway I can add more screens or will it have to be done in a new release
Wow! more than 18 screens of info? I have to ask: what do you have on them all?
I use 3-4 screens (4x20 LCD), and usually only 2 (cpu/mem info and winamp info), but then I'm not using the PC as a media centre and don't have gaming stats or anything like that...
The bad news: I don't think there is a way to get more than 20 screens with the current release (same in previous versions) - the developers presumably didn't foresee a need for more than that.
Well I do have a few junk screens I can get rid of, but here is a quick list.
1: Time & Date 2: CPU Meter w/ bar 3: Ram Load w/ bar
4: Disk Load w/bars 5: CPU, PSU and fan 6: Internode Email
7: Shiftreload Email 8: IP and net speed 9: Uptime
10: CPU and Ram Load (Bars) 11:Analogue Clock & Date 12: Pagefile
13:Winamp 14: Weather RSS 15:Bignum Plugin clock
16: Ch Ten RSS 17: Another CPU temp bar 18: Download counter
And a screen I missed is a screen that you can edit the text over a network.
Hard to belive but I use most of them.
As I said I could get rid of a few, but when I get the game server info working it's going to fill right up. *Licks Extreme ADSL2+ router, and frowns apon 20GB limit...*
I think that support for girder control and more than 20 screens can be done from Lcd smartie code. The options are already there for girder control: Next theme, Last theme, Next screen, Last screen, Go to theme(1..), Go to screen (1..), Freeze/Unfreeze, Enable screen (1-x). They have to include external access to them. Just like they use the capability of winamp to be controlled from external aplications.
I can obtain the necessary info for girder commands if in the lcd preview, beside the next and last buttons options, you could place buttons for all the ather options. Then i can capture those commands in girder. It doesn't work from access menu.
I have a HD44780 (16X2) so adjusting the LCD brightness would require an external IR setup. Although then you wouldn't need a power switch or external buttons either.
