I need help with weather

Post by rappy350 »

I am trying to put together a little remote lcd for my mother for christmas because she is always pestering me about the forecast. I cannot seem to get the yahoo weather plugin to load. This is what I have done Downloaded and installed .net framework2>downloaded plug in> unziped plug in into "displays" folder of lcd smartie> opened lcd smartie and got the cannot load plug in message. I haven't even begun interfacing the lcd I am still tryign to get the plug in to operate.

I really need help because I am running out of time. If there is another weather plug in, that would be great. If anyone could tell me how to get this one working that would be great to. Thanks in advance to all of the plug in builders and the smartie team you guys are doing a great job.

You should unzip the plugin into the plugins folder, not the displays folder, also until you wire your lcd, select None or desktop.dll as display plugin.

Good luck!

Caesar thankyou for your help. What I finally did was use the RSS function in LCD Smartie and a RSS Weather feed instead of the plug in. It Works like a charm but I am sure I will be back with questions once I start building my module.

Nice! You'll see that second to the joy of owning a small lcd is fiddling with plugins and building screens!
