LCD Ericsson 2618

Post by b-angel »

Hello!
I have an LCD from Ericsson 2618 and i want to connect it to my comp witn LPT or USB. It will be using with WinAMP to see the title of song, length of song and equalizer.

Can i do this with LCD Smartie or i need other program?

LCD Smartie only supports alphanumeric text displays, although there are some tricks used to generate simple graphics within the character cells.

You're out of luck with mobile/cell phone LCDs, as these are generally graphic modules and require special connections or drivers. For this sort of LCD you'd be better looking at other software... sorry! If you like a programming and electronics challenge, you can try to make your own interface circuit and driver software.

i think lcdhype or lcdstudio can handle some kind of cellphone display. it is a graphic display. maybe someone made the driver, maybe not, but it can be connected. i think it is hard but not impossible, look for the protocol, i know there is info about 1100 lcd, but i've no idea about this model.
