Hi all
First post here, so greets to everyone.
This looks like a really cool thing to make, but where are all the files?
Have been looking through this and used google for a few days and just can't seem to find anywhere a live download link that will provide me with:
A schematic
A PCB file
HEX code
Ideally I am looking for a single sided USB PIC based LCD Smartie project, buttons, buzzers or other add ons could be good too. But just can't seem to find anything like this.
Am aware that really I am after being spoon fed all the files in one place, but am itching to get started with this, it is so cool.
So how about a "sticky" where the various flavours, USB, PIC, RS232 ATMEGA etc could all be stored to make it easy for people to get started?
Failing that, can anyone provide me with suitable info?
TIA
Donkey
EDIT: PS No Surface mount chips either, its easier to solder through hole for beginners. - Thanks again

As far as I know there aren't any complete projects on this forum, ie schematic, PCB layout and HEX file all neatly packaged up with docs...
We're mostly hobbyist developers who haven't gotten around to properly finishing our projects
There are a few designs on this forum (search for backpack, interface, PIC, AVR etc) including serial (COM) port and USB interfaces, but you'll probably have to design your own board (I used Veroboard for mine because it's so simple).
Any design that uses the Matrix Orbital or CrystalFontz protocols should be suitable for use with Smartie and other equivalent programs. There is one Smartie-specific design here that is about the simplest way of connecting an LCD to USB.
See if you can find enough info here to get started with something, and call for help if you need more info!
