Windows 7 Tests - The bright side
Good news!
Smartie 5.4 runs fine under Microsoft's new OS (Windows 7).
I have successfully tested three different connection types on Windows 7 Beta(32bit), USB - Serial - Parallel.
Since windows 7 is based on Vista driver architecture this is quite normal.

I'm running Windows 7 RC till Oct. 22nd. I was running Windows XP home. LCD Smartie worked with XP, but I can't get it up and going with 7. Need a link.

you have to run it as an administrator. (as in RMB on LCDSmartie and Run this as an administrator)z3pr68138 wrote:I'm running Windows 7 RC till Oct. 22nd. I was running Windows XP home. LCD Smartie worked with XP, but I can't get it up and going with 7. Need a link.

Okay, I'm lost. I can build a computer, but I have no idea when it comes to stuff like that.he3r0 wrote:you have to run it as an administrator. I'm going to install Win 7 64bit Home Premium. I have a CrystalFontz 632 LCD but its USB. I'm guessing the 5.4.1 drivers will work under Win 7 64bit with no problems?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Windows 7 Tests - The bright side
I can't get stats for my network adapter in win7.
est is el impossible!
another thing i'd want "fixed" is the cpu temp and fanspeed stuff integrated into lcdsmartie, since MBM wont work on win7

I'm using windows 7 32bit with four instances of LCD Smartie running without any problem. Please provide more info about your problem. What kind of connection are you using?antonakis wrote:i was using my lcd nice with windows XP

Re: Windows 7 Tests - The bright side
Has anyone had any luck getting LCD Smartie to work with Windows 7 x64 and an iMON VFD (imond.dll)?
The iMon software and the display work fine, so I know the driver and what not work, but when I try to launch LCD Smartie it says: "Failed to open device: DLL Initialize error: IMOND.DLL: Display not found."
Any ideas?

Re: Windows 7 Tests - The bright side
These VFD are a real pain to get working, and commands to make drivers for them are not documented.
If you cant find any answers by searching the forums then there are very small chances to get it working.

Re: Windows 7 Tests - The bright side
That's depressing, the default iMon app really sucks. Is there anyone else who makes a similar app for such displays? I haven't been able to find anything via Google.caesar wrote:These VFD are a real pain to get working, and commands to make drivers for them are not documented.

Hi
I have succesfully tested the Serial and Parralel interfaces on Windows 7 32bit
and also the Serial LCDs from crystal fontz on windows 7 64bit, without running extra software like port95n, or anything like that
Regards
