lcd still ON, when computer is OFF

i have a 1602 lcd 16x2 from SureElectronics.
It is connected via internal USB.

when i shut down the computer , lcd still shows what it was showing last time, when computer was on.
It never turns off.

i have another lcd 20x4 in another computer with the same connection without any problems
What is the problem with this lcd, and never turns off?

The USB ports are powered even with the computer turned off.

Sure Elec. could implement a function to turn it off when computer is turned off... send them a request.

ok i will send them..

but the other lcd with the same type of connection( internal usb) turns off, when pc turns off

The other PC's USBs must be powered by the +5v line from PSU instead of the +5vsb in PC1's case.

+5vsb is kept live when the PC is shutdown.

i send them a mail, and they answered ro me that the LCD Display could not be turned off due to the existence of the standby power of PC.

but my second lcd in my second pc turns off..

That's what I said. Your second PC doesn't have this "standby power". That's why the LCD stays on.

Are your lcd's off when you turn off the computer??

I'm not sure how yr LCD module looks like but you could modify it to draw 5V from the molex connector ( red - 5V, black - ground ) instead of from the USB port..

Set smartie shutdown message to empty spaces.

I have a VFD and it is also always on, but with empty spaces it wont show anything. If you have backlight try to find some way to turn it off. I don't know =(
