Futaba VFD with USB to Parallel with FTDI FT245 Chip
Will this chip work with lcd smartie and a Futaba 2x20 VFD that works off of parallel normally? I just wanted to verify before I buy the board to convert it over.

Do you mean this interface using FT245? http://forums.lcdsmartie.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1540
I guess it should work if the VFD is compatible with the standard HD44780 LCD controller. I don't see any mention of VFDs on that thread, but I guess it should work.
