LPT Card problem

Post by hydrolisk1792 »

Hey, I just got a new LPT port card with two COM ports on it as well. The COM prots are working with LCD Smartie just fine, but the LPTprot isnt, any ideas what could be wrong? It works on the one on the Motherboard just fine, but I switched it to the LPT card that I just installed. I changed the parameters and all for what port is is on, but still nothing. It is a 20x2 with the HD44780 driver on the screen. Thanks in advanced for your help.

Which model card is it? There may be some config jumpers or software. What have you got as the port parameters for it?

For PCI card parallel ports, the addresses are usually an unusual number that you must find in device manager. More info on that here: http://forums.lcdsmartie.org/viewtopic.php?t=1386 and in a few other posts on the forum. Search for "PCI", "LPT", "address" etc.

The card really don't have a maker's name on it. It is in this ebay add where I got it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWNX:IT

That is where I got it from.

There are no parameters set except I put it as LPT2...
