just bought an LCD after years of wanting one but it didn't come with anything just the screen and USB header cable, I've plugged it in but windows can't find a driver and LCD smartie can't see it so it's just sitting there displaying "LCD2USB v1.0a"
so please can someone point me in the right direction
You need to get the display driver for Smartie from http://www.harbaum.org/till/lcd2usb/index.shtml (there's a link in the overview section). Put this driver (a DLL file) in the "displays" folder in your Smartie folder (wherever you installed/unzipped LCDSmartie to). Then plug in the LCD and re-start Smartie and select the LCD2USB driver in Smartie's configuration panel, on the Plugins panel in the Display setting on the Screens tab (phew!).
Hi thanks for replying, i already have that dll file in the display folder the part i'm having problem with is the driver for windows, i found this "libusb-win32-bin-1.2.2.0" that sort of makes a driver and it has sort of but it's still not working apart from showing the "LCD2USB v1.0A" the screen was showing before, i wish i could be more help but this is all very new to me i can't even tell what company made the screen and controller, here's a pic of the back of the screen if it helps
Hmm, I've never used LCD2USB or LibUSB before. It looks like the install procedure for libusb-win32 is a bit complicated. It is explained in the "installation" section on this page http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/libusb-win32/wiki but I can't help much more than that, sorry. It looks like you have to use a libusb utility to find the USB ID of the LCD2USB device, then copy this into the libusb driver's INF file so that it is recognized as the correct driver for Windows to use.
Hey guys im using the lcd2usb Controller by till harbaum but my Windows is an 64Bit seven Ultimate. But the driver is just for x86 Systems so i can Not use my LCD. Can anyone recompile the Driver?
Please help!
