pararell display problem on 7

Hi there!

i just buy a HD44780 16x2 alredy wired for pararell port...


the problem is when i try to use it on my PC, i connect it to the 5v power line and lpt1 port... then open LCD Smartie 5.4.2.92 and!... the LCD start to showing a lot of Random characters at very high speed!


I dont have any idea what is wrong, i try it on my old Athlon XP PC (With Windows XP) and work perfect!
My actual PC runs Windows 7 and LCD Smartie as administrator, i also try changing the pararell port settings on the BIOS (Normal, Bi-Directional, EPP, ECP, EPP + ECP) without any luck.
i even do a clean Windows 7 install and the problem is still there!


i am thinking that my pararell port is damage or something like that.
Any advise?
