I have a hd44780 and have now installed windows 8 x64 with media center. lcdsmartie works but i cant get media center info to work

i cant get filewriter or tcpipcontroller to install/work.

I use wmc with an hdhomerrun prime so i was thinking worst case maybe smartie could read the html from the primes info page to get some channel info into a txt file or something for smartie to read, registry or something ?

any ideas or suggestions on getting this vfd to work with windows 8 media center ?
