LPT on alternate address (Win7 32 bit)

Hi all. I have checked the display on an older computer with an LPT port onboard on address $378. This works fine. (HD44780 compatible display)

However, on the motherboard where I need to use it, there are no LPT ports on the motherboard. I have installed a PCI-e card with 2 parallel ports. These have addresses C000 and C010 for LPT1, and C020 and C030 for LPT2.

The port95nt.exe is installed as admin and in XP-SP3 compatibility mode. It seems to be running.

LCD Smarte is running as admin, and I have tried both XP compatibility mode and normal Win7 mode.
I have tried different setups including editing the config file. There is an option that is called HDAlternativeAddressing which I have tried with both 1 and zero.

The display is a HD44780 compatible 4 x 40.

I also made sure that the DLPortIO.dll are placed in the LCDSmartie directory. However, no luck so far.

I am afraid, that the Port95NT does not support parallel ports outside the legacy addresses. My ports are not placed at the classical 378h and 278h addresses.

So the big question is: How to get this to work? I really hope someone would like to help. I shall gladly pay for the time - within reasonable limits.

Hi,
a lot of PCI LPT cards are designed to drive printers only and don't have individual control of the lines that Smartie needs to operate. I know I have been caught with this in the past. Let us know the model of the card.

The Parallel port I use is the DeLock dual parallel interface, http://www.delock.com/produkte/F_324_Pa ... kmale.html - it is based on the MOSCHIP chipset, which as far as I have learned, all these chips have the parallel port on non-legacy addresses.

Any good ideas on how to solve this problem?

I have now read the links, and I actually already tried this - i thought up myslef setting the port to $C000, $C010, $C020 or $C030, which are the four addresse shown in the properties for the 2 LPT ports on the PCIe port. Neither of these worked.

However, I do have the port95nt installed. Should this be removed?

Should I use the latest beta release to get it to work perhaps?
