TV or DVD captions???

Post by naps1saps »

Is there any way to display TV captions or DVD subtitles in real time on an LCD??? This could have some interesting uses.

Have you tried to watch a movie with the subtitles placed in an external device(?).

Is that even possible?

I just thought it would be cool for a mixed deaf/hearing group watching a movie or the tv. My dad is deaf and its sometimes very annoying to have the tv captions on the screen. Especially durring a sporting event, the captions cover the score. Puting these on another device frees up the picture so you can see everything. I'm sorry about the poll. Can you remove it?

P.S. Is there any way you or someone else can try to rewrite Smartie to use inpout32/inpoutx64 instead of port95nt? All of us 64bit'ers would appreciate that very much! I would have taken a look at the source if I had Delphi. All I have is Visual Studio 6.0 which I now found out is very old! I can't even make plugins unless I buy the 2005 version of .net. Is there any free way I can get an upgrade or other software that works?

The "Mono" C# compiler works for compiling plugins. Search for it on Google. You'll have to compile from the command prompt with the "mcs" program using the "/target:library" flag.
