More than 20 screens?

Post by hydrolisk1792 »

Been a hot minute since I've posted something involving improving the program. However, I'd like to see the program have the ability to handle more than just 20 screens. I never thought I'd need more than 20 in a single instance of smartie but here lately I have a situation to where I need it to have upwards of 72 screens.

Is this something that we can look forwards to, or is this too much? lol :D

I know something like this would most likely have to be a release of a new version of smartie. Also on that topic, is there any future development in the works to make this work with windows 10 without having to run it in comparability mode? Been updating some systems lately and been running some tests and got it to work, but in some cases it becomes a bit unstable after running for a few weeks straight. Just some thoughts.

I also would like a version of LCD Smartie that is more Windows 10 compatible but I think the development have stopped long time ago.

Yeah... I can't seem to get a hold of Limbo nowadays for some reason... I'm going to try something else.

The reason I'm asking the question that I'm asking here is because the program was written in Pascal I believe and I have no idea what I'm doing with that language lol. Would be a massive learning curve for me.

Hello

The program is coded in Delphi which is actually the Object Pascal.
Unfortunately we are out developers on this language right know and the development is stopped. That's sad. :(
Not much to tell about this situation right now.

Oh no!

Is the program still open source though? On my spare time I can take a whack at it and see how far I can get? If I can come to understand it well enough, I wouldn't mind taking over development on it and maybe become part of the development team? I would love to keep this program alive for as long as possible. It is one of the main programs I use on all my PCs and business machines and have been using for over a decade lol  . I have also built some purpose built machines around Smartie, so it would actually be a good thing if I knew how it worked on the inside as well as I know it on the outside.

New alpha 5.5.0.0 will allow you to go over 20 screens to 99. Also a lot more added and windows 10 seems to like it as well; :)
