Problems using WinAmp plugin

Post by FragK »

Hello, i'm using your great software, thank you for that. I just started using it today after i finished soldering my first lcd, and it works fine, including the speedfan plugin. However when i try using the winamp plugin for the spectrum analyser, all it does is show a number. In this case, 4 numbers because i have a 20x4 display, HD44780.

e.g. when input this:

$dll(winamp,1,4x20,0)
$dll(winamp,2,0,0)
$dll(winamp,3,0,0)
$dll(winamp,4,0,0)

all i get on my lcd is:

36
30
36
42

I tried using old winamp and my new version, both the same results. I'm pretty sure i did what i was told to concerning the .dll files. However, when i was told to backup the excisting config.ini, i didnt have one yet (?). And in config ini my winamp path doesnt change, but regular winamp information does display correctly.

I hope someone can help me out. And again thanks for your great software.

edit: btw is it correct that if i select the plugin and i press 'start' nothing happens?

Do you mean within winamp menu?
this is correct, for sure!
You also have to start the plugin in winamp in order ro receive the graphic analyzer bars.

sorry for this post, it was my own mistake: i downloaded smartie from the site i got my lcd from, but that was an outdated version (5.1) and winamp plugin is only supported from 5.3 and higher.

Sorry for the thread, and thx for the help.

WinAmp Plugin Start

Post by freedom »

Hi There

Is there, by any chance, someway to start the winamp spectrum analyzer plugin, without having to enable it in winamp everytime i start winamp?

Perhaps some commandline option in WinAmp?

Or maybe a minor change in the .dll that makes it start by itself?

Thanks

Start Winamp
Goto "Preferences" (Ctrl +P)
Click On "Plugins"
Check the "Autoexecute visualization plug-in on playback" check box
Goto "Visualization"
Click on "Spectrum analyzer for LCD Smartie" (to be selected)

Apply the changes!

Thats it :D
