I think limbo posted it in the plugin request section under animating characters.

Any one having problems with this?

Any suggestions? (more characters, etc.)

I was thinking, would it be beneficial if you could choose the delimiter, instead of the # sign you could use the * or something??

Can't get animate working

Post by fishthecat »

Hi all,

I finally got around to reinstalling windows, and I still can't get animate working.

I'm getting this windows error:
LCDSmartie.exe - Unable to Locate Component.
"This application has failed to start because MSVCP60D.dll was not found..."

[edit]
and this LCDSmartie error:
"Load of plugin failed: LoadLibrary failed with #126: The specified module could not be found."
[/edit]

Please can someone link to the runtime files I need? Pretty please?

Another question, why do I need to install runtimes for the plugins when LCDSmartie itself doens't need any extra software. Could the plugins be writen in whatever language LCDSmartie is, so they just work when you download them? Or doesn't it work like that?

I think Smartie is written in Delphi, but I am not sure. That plugin was written in C++ so you need the C++ runtimes. I do not know where they are but I think Limbo does.

try downloading the dll at http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... l?msvcp60d and extract it to your windows system folder

That's because dll can be programmed in different language programs. Depending of the version, the language and the development environment used you might need the proper runtimes which the dll calls that is not installed on your computer.

Excuse for my English translated through the translator the

But there are some problems for example at a conclusion to the screen here it

1 line CPU $dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(1,10,4,0,0,0,4,10,4)$Chr(176)#$CustomChar(2,0,0,0,4,10,4,0,0)$Chr(158)#,1) VGA$dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(4,0,0,0,4,10,4,0,0)$Chr(132)#$CustomChar(3,4,10,4,0,0,0,0,4)$Chr(131)#,1) $dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(4,0,0,0,4,10,4,0,0)$Chr(132)#$CustomChar(3,4,10,4,0,0,0,0,4)$Chr(131)#,1) $dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(4,0,0,0,4,10,4,0,0)$Chr(132)#$CustomChar(3,4,10,4,0,0,0,0,4)$Chr(131)#,1) NB

3line$dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(4,0,0,0,4,10,4,0,0)$Chr(132)#$CustomChar(3,4,10,4,0,0,0,0,4)$Chr(131)#,1) $dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(4,0,0,0,4,10,4,0,0)$Chr(132)#$CustomChar(3,4,10,4,0,0,0,0,4)$Chr(131)#,1) WATERCOLLER$dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(4,0,0,0,4,10,4,0,0)$Chr(132)#$CustomChar(3,4,10,4,0,0,0,0,4)$Chr(131)#,1) $dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(4,0,0,0,4,10,4,0,0)$Chr(132)#$CustomChar(3,4,10,4,0,0,0,0,4)$Chr(131)#,1)

4line GEKTOR TRIPLEX

or at presence of animation in many screens, after full change of screens (20 pieces) animation vanishes. Or we shall admit at 100 % of loading CPU and an output from this mode too.
Windows XP SP2, PCI Controller LPT St-lab I152.
Animation not simply empty seat and so all line is shifted on a place of badges works only after repeated loading Smartie, and on a place of animated badges. If it is necessary all config with set of animation I can throw on mail

Can somebody with a 4x20 LCD check the code from Credo and tell me what it is doing? Otherwise I will have to dig mine out.

Thanks

I think I might know the problem already. I do not think you can use the Animate Dll in two different occurances on the same screen. For instance trying to animate one set of characters on line 1 and another on line 2.

If this is the problem, there are two ways around this. Either I can add more redudant functions so that the characters do not get garbled together when they are going into the plugin, or you can copy the plugin and rename it. For example, you could have ANIMATE1.DLL, ANIMATE2.DLL, ... etc and use ANIMATE1 for the first line, ANIMATE2 for the second line.....etc.

Can anyone verify that this is what is happening?

Thanks
Jason

I tried your lines on my 2x16 lcd and I do not see what the problem is...maybe its because I am not sure what it is supposed to do.

There is one more moment when symbols do not wish to work but if to add or clean one symbol (even outside of the screen) all starts to work. At my friend the screen too 4х20 and at it the same problems with animation. Whether for check start the program which loads the processor> 70 % for 30 seconds and after that look there will be at you this problem with animation

I shall ask it can be it will describe a problem in more details

Credo I need a better, clearer description of the problem. I do not know what is supposed to do, so I do not know what is wrong with it.

Has anyone else had problems with this plugin?

Thanks

Hi _X7JAY7X_
I have same problem like a Credo.
For example such line:
Raptor $dll(ANIMATE,1,$CustomChar(1,4,10,10,11,10,11,10,31)$Chr(176)#$CustomChar(2,4,10,10,11,10,15,14,31)$Chr(158)#$CustomChar(3,4,10,10,15,14,15,14,31)$Chr(131)#$CustomChar(4,4,14,14,15,14,15,14,31)$Chr(132)#,1) ----- $Temp4?
1st problem - When the Smarti is started, animate-plugin works correctly, after some loading CPU (for example - played winamp and the song was simply replaced) the plug-in vanishes in general, on the screen instead of animation anything is not present, even symbols are displaced on that quantity of signs which is borrowed with an animated picture.
2nd problem - in the given variant at a conclusion to the screen instead of a badge of degree one of pictures of which animation consists is for some reason displayed.
3rd problem - If on the screen is bar-graph it consists not of standard badges, and also from pictures of which animation consists.
By the way, Credo has tried to create a little animate.dll - animate1.dll........... animate12.dll. Animation began to work correctly without mistakes. It is possible to make somehow changes to a plug-in to avoid creation of several animate.dll?

Yes, I can add more functions to the plugin, but will this completely fix the problem?

When he made several plugins did the problem completely disappear?

The problem c a conclusion to the screen of animation, but not replacement in BAR rectangulars on symbols CHAR disappeared
8 symbols as much as possible that can be made it?
Example of a mistake:
1 Line
$dll(ANIMATE5,1,$CustomChar(1,0,0,31,16,19,20,8,11)$Chr(176)#$CustomChar(5,0,0,31,16,19,20,10,9)$Chr(133)#,1)$dll(ANIMATE9,1,$CustomChar(8,0,0,31,1,25,4,18,18)$Chr(136)#$CustomChar(2,0,0,31,1,25,4,10,18)$Chr(158)#,1) 0$Bar($HDU%(C),100,8)100%
2Line
$dll(ANIMATE3,1,$CustomChar(3,9,10,4,19,24,31,31,31)$Chr(131)#$CustomChar(6,9,9,4,19,24,31,31,31)$Chr(134)#,1)$dll(ANIMATE2,1,$CustomChar(4,18,10,5,25,3,31,31,31)$Chr(132)#$CustomChar(7,26,2,5,25,3,31,31,31)$Chr(135)#,1) 0$Bar($HDU%(D),100,8)100%
