I'm a new smartie user, and when a try to connect a 2X24 char. LCD on the LTP1 port ,random (sometimes the right) characters are jumping over the screen. I check the hardware several times and used the latest software. HELP !!!

Hi,
I'm a new smartie user, and when a try to connect a 2X24 char. LCD on the LTP1 port ,random (sometimes the right) characters are jumping over the screen. I check the hardware several times and used the latest software. HELP !!!

Do you have the transition set to random characters?
What are you trying to do when this happens (scroll characters, or is it just a static screen)
Is the connection to the display solid without stray wires? Good soldering job? Factory built cable?
Just some things to get pointed in the right direction.
