Some question about LCD smartie and my LCD display

I have installed lcd smartie and the drive for my LPT port.
Have also activated EPP only for the LPT port in BIOS.

When I open LCD smartie I'm very confused about how to test just a text on my display.

Have another problem. If I try to install SpeedFan after I have installed the driver I get a error message when I try to start SpeedFan because the port is allready used or something.

Sorry about my English, I'm from Swe.

I assume you're using the latest release (not the beta).
For setup a text and display it to your LCD (parallel connection based) you have to select first the HD44780 driver [http://lcdsmartie.sourceforge.net/HDSetup.html]

Once you selected this driver and the wirings [http://lcdsmartie.sourceforge.net/circuits.htm] are correct the "Apply" button will send the text from the textboxes directy to your display!

The speedfan problem, it's not actually a problem.
During the installation the speedfan should check if the portnt driver its already installed and give you a warning about it.
Something like the following:
The DLportIO service is installed.
It's no longer needed by SpeedFan.

Do you want to remove it?

You have to answer NO to this and continue the installation.

Ok. It worked but how do I do if I want it to show CPU status and more?

I can see that LCD Smartie allready have that functions but how do I do to activate them?

select a screen!
be sure that the enabled is checked

delete any excistence lines
to have a blank screen

now select the function that you want to add double click it to add it to any line you like
