hi
im new to all this and the 1st problem is when i press L to go to next screen it goes from 1 then 3 and misses out the rest,what im i doing wrong

well first of all, the L button doesn't go to the next screen, it goes to the theme.
you need , and . to go back and forward thought the screens (< and >)
second, you skip screens if .... (bunch of options) if you don't have winamp running, you properly have 'skip screen if...' set to 'winamp is inactive'.
