Whitch display is it?

Post by Hybrid »

Hey all!
I have LCD that looks just like HD44780 20x2 but it's not HD44780! :!:
It have 20 pins connector and it's graphical. :?:
Can someone please tell me what type could it be, can it work with LCD smartie and how to wire it up?

Unfortunately, graphical LCDs don't work with LCD Smartie unless you add a controller to emulate the standard character displays like HD44780 - this means adding a microcontroller and writing a program to interpret the commands and write to the display. It's difficult to add support for graphical modules in Smartie since there are so many different types with different sizes and protocols. It's bad enough with lots of different character LCD modules.

It's difficult to tell what the display is without any more info. Do you know the manufacturer's part number for the display? Can you post the part numbers printed on any chips on the circuit board? Often, doing a web search for the module or chip part numbers will get you some more info or data sheets.
