Overlapping letters and Invalid Handle

Post by rappy350 »

I have been having a problem with the letters on my lcd overlapping. I have this LCD http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc ... cts_id=813. The first time I fired it up it worked fine the information scrolled correctly and everything was great. Then it started to overlap letters. Now it wont even initialize the testdriver.dll it says that the handle is invalid. Please help soon I am giving this as a Christmas present so I don't have much time Thanks in advance.

I have fixed the problem with the DLL now my problem is with the readout on the display. It is a 2x16 and I only want to display one line of text. whenever I only put one line of command in it displays a copy on the second line.

It's good you solved the first problem!
As for the second post, why don't you put spaces on the second line?

Are you using the test driver with this LCD?

There's a proper SparkFun driver for Smartie now, made by rfryar, so try using that. It should let you position your text on whichever line you want, plus allow custom characters (which the testdriver can't do).
