some issues, some suggestions

i cant get the email notifier to work.. it reports there is some trouble with ssl, but i double checked all the settings and the dlls and everything is fine (i'm using gmail and there's plenty of forum threads helping with it, but it looks like i'm not the only one experiencing this issue.. besides, i got the same error with hotmail)

while the utorrent plugin won't work too (it even causes smartie to freeze), the demo rss feeds are fine.
so i cant understand if there's some kind of network problem.
i'm in a natted home network (behind a router), but don't use any proxy so i didn't set that..

last, i suggest you remove the left panel or allow to customize it with the custom plugins!
it would be nice if all lcd smarties behaviours could be governed via script.. alike foobar2000. not only the things to be displayed, but for example the skip-screen condition too.
