HD44780 why wont this work? Like The Others

i have a display hooked upto my lpt port...here is the issue i am having.

i have 3 other displays that work fine, one is a vfd 4x20. A hd44780 4x40. hd44780 4x20 also, all work very well under lcdsmartie. however when i hook up other displays i get no info on screen.

now here is the major problem. i fire up lcdhype and the display works fine, not just my 3 but all my other displays also. why do they all work in lcdhype and not lcdsmartie?

atm i get nothing from my display untill i run lcdhype, my thoughts where on the wireings or sumthing however all is correct and this display works with another program but not lcdsmartie.

the display is fine, wireings and the likes.. why will lcdsmartie only work for some displays and not others?? yet lcdhype will work for all of them? same chips..pinouts and everything.

btw this one im trying to get workin with lcdsmartie is a bt42008

perhaps a setting is wrong on my side?

i figured it out, it was the timing. i just had lpt1 in the config. this fixed it..

LPT1,5

also it works with lpt1,2 and the likes also. whats it do if i go to high or low for the timing??
