Winamp plugin

I've been told that when Winamp is started it can automatically change the display to it's screen. How is this possible, is there some special code in LCDSmartie that allows winamp to do this. If so can this method be used by other external applications ?

LCD smartie have build in function to skip or view screens depending on the status of Winamp... and also with MBM...
I don?t think that is possible to check the status of other program, at least not in current version.
Raising a RFE about it in main smartie site is a good idea
