"Matrix Orbital LK" VFD

Post by Latvian3Dman »

Hello, LCD Smartie community! There are those Chinese VFD displays, with controller board and USB connection, those got marketed as "AIDA64 Display", and indeed they work in AIDA64, if set to external display type "Matrix Orbital LK". Thing is, it is not working with usual plugin "matrix" that is in LCD Smartie. In Windows system, device shows up as a normal COM port (CH340 chip). What can we do to get those nice VFDs to work with LCD Smartie? ;-)
Thank You!

Thank You for answering, but, I am confused. I only find a driver for CH340 USB bridge. What did I miss, please?

Can you try to use LCD2USB driver on LCD smartie?

I tried all possible DLLs. Also, this one is for other boards converters, mine shows up as a COM port, not as a particular USB device.
There is that USB2LCD.DLL mentioned for other their modules, and also for separate USB to LCD module, but it is not for this particular VFD that I posted. You can compare PDFs, different usages. My VFD is in Windows system as a COM port, and in AIDA64 it works as "Matrix Orbital LK" type (not "USB2LCD").
Basically, question is, can we have a LCDSmartie display DLL for this "Matrix Orbital LK" protocol, which is different (they say "simplified") from old "Matrix" prootocol that LCDSmartie has.
Disclaimer: this VFD does NOT promise LCD Smartie support, it is not in PDF, so, question is, could such "Matrix LK" support for Smartie be created by someone :) If AIDA64 can do that, Smartie community also could, right? :-)
