Smartie does not show MBM temperatures

Post by mx300 »

i installed the MBM5 + Smartie 5.3, but smartie does not show the temperature. the mbm is running. It always shows "255". and there was not my mainvboard when assigning in the mbm config dialog. it is simply too new. and as i know the mbm will not be developped any more.

what am i doing wrong?

my system: Mainboard MSI RS482M-IL with ATI Xpress 200 chipset + Turion 64 MT-37 2 Ghz, windows mce2005 with all updates, soundgraph iMon Vfd display with plugin for smartie.

Can anybody help? how can i read the temps other way?

I assume that MBM is not displaying the temps correctly? You'll have to see if you can configure MBM for your motherboard. Maybe one of the standard motherboard setups is compatible, or you can manually configure MBM. I don't know much about configuring it, since my board is detected OK. Maybe the MBM forums/FAQs can give you some help, unless you've already tried there... Unfortunately, it could well be that you motherboard simply is not supported at all.

As far as I know, you must use MBM5 for temps/fans in Smartie, unless somebody has a plugin to use other monitoring utilities.

Matt.

thx. i will check it.

the mbm is not developped anymore. so in future there will be less and less motherboards supported. what then?

Try Speedfan, www.almico.com/speedfan.php, see if your sensors are identified then get the speedfan plugin.
Good luck!
