Old account inactive, can't log into it to delete it!

Once upon a time, I registered on here with an account name of "djv". I used my main email address to create that account, but never really posted with it much. It apparently was marked as inactive, and I can't log into it now. (can't clearly remember the passwd anyway) The problem is that the board still sees that account as "using" the email address even though the account is deactivated, so I can't use that email address for my current account here. Is there any way someone could nuke that old login from orbit, freeing the email address? Thanks!
