speedfan plugin

I just got a Silverstone case with a display, and I followed directions and down loaded LCD Smartie. It works fine, but doesn't display temps or fans from my ASUS motherboard. I down loaded SpeedFan but I can not get it to work. On the display it saids "smartfan not running". I put it in the plugin folder with the demo.dll. I need some help. Software is not my cup of tea.

Is the speed fan installed to your system?
Is it running when your LCD Smartie requests data through speedfan plugin?
